Diving in Thailand
Thailand owns some of the most beautiful islands and beaches in the world. They also have a stunning coral line which is surrounded by crystal clear water. It should be noted that Thailand has been attracting a plenty of divers from all over the world during the past decade or so.
The prime season for diving in Thailand is between the months of October and June, but they have arranged facilities for diving throughout the year. Thailand has been rated as one of the safest places to engage in diving and snorkeling, and also they set favorable conditions for first-timers.
It should be noted that the sea visibility in some areas are up to 30 m, which is very rare in most parts of the world. There exists great natural underwater diversity within the beaches of Thailand.
American Navy Seals were the pioneers of introducing diving to Thailand during the Vietnamese war. The first ever diving store within Thailand was opened in Pattaya back in the year 1977. This set the trend on Diving and the beaches in Thailand started attracting thousands of locals and foreigners on a daily basis.
The trend for diving set in Pattaya spread to the Phuket islands and there were a plenty of resorts established within that region to accommodate the divers who visited the island. A certain amount of divers were exploring the suitability to dive in the Similan islands which was located in the Andaman Sea. Later on the Similan islands turned out to become a top ranked diving site in the world. Andaman Sea sets a great platform for diving in the present. The taruto and Surin islands have been able to grab the attention of divers during the recent past.
Most of these diving sites are well developed with great infrastructure facilities and the Thai government provides great backing for the betterment of the industry. It should be noted that the Turtle Island located in the Gulf of Thailand has emerged as a major point for diving with more than 20 diving centers being established within the zone.

The gulf of Thailand accommodates a highly favorable condition for divers during May to September. So basically, you could dive all year round in Thailand.
